  Charlotte Kirkham

Growing up in the Warwickshire countryside with two grandmothers who are keen artists Charlotte spent her time painting and drawing the things around her. Inspired by the Pre-Raphaelite commitment to truth in nature, Charlotte has painted throughout the world, from the Mountains of Mourne to the foothills of Jerusalem.

Whilst studying History at UCL Charlotte took electives at the Slade School of Fine Art she then went on to study Politics at Queen’s University Belfast where she gained her MA in Comparative Ethnic Conflict and was an artist member of the Belfast Print Workshop.

Moving to Israel in 2007 Charlotte studied Fine Art at Bezalel School of Art and Design, Jerusalem before taking a studio in the Bohemian capital Tel Aviv.

She has worked as a costume designer in the Bloomsbury and Garage theatres (Blood Wedding, Richard III) and  designed sets for the Beit Hillel theatre throughout the duration of her stay in Israel (Blood Brothers, My Fair Lady, Beauty and the Beast, Annie).

Charlotte has been commissioned for works ranging from redecorating hospitals to landscapes and portraits. She has exhibited in Israel and London and is currently living near Solihull where she works from her studio.
