Emily Lowry
Having been fortunate enough to have grown up in the countryside, the love of this is reflected in my work. I specialise largely in rural scenes, often monotone with a subtle hint of colour, with their own mood and atmosphere.
It has been suggested that my creations are very therapeutic and would suit
a hospital or counselling environment, they have strength but also portray peace and tranquillity.
During the BA Fine Art degree at Solihull College I was given the freedom to explore the beautiful forms and textures of the English landscape in order to portray my own interpretation of this subject. The principal of Solihull College showed great interest in my work and bought three of my paintings which can be viewed in the refectory at the college.
Although I work mainly in acrylics I also enjoy watercolours.
I now intend exhibiting my work alongside other artists with a view to sell.
