Mark Skirving 

I am an established professional artist with a great love of art history and have sold many paintings through galleries, exhibitions and commissions by private collectors in Great Britain, Europe, USA and Canada. I have created many large scale public murals and also produce many works with digital photography and film.

I have been involved with blues music for over 25 years and have had my own band for all of that time, being the front man of King Pleasure & the Biscuit Boys; playing the baritone saxophone and singing the blues for festivals all over the world.

I see my work as part of a long Northern European Romantic Tradition. From the sacred woods of the great Symbolists; Friedrich and Bocklin, to the fearful fairytales of The Brothers Grimm. The art of a cold and wet climate where sheltering from the elements behind closed doors, we leave ourselves too much time for contemplation and letting our imagination run wild.
