  Jacqui Thomson

I am a textile artist who uses embroidery and the art of the stitch as a means to express my ideas.  Currently I am exploring the feminine notion of domesticity and how women can sometimes feel they are literally disappearing beneath the burden of drudgery that is called ‘women’s work’.  My observations of the humdrum, the mundane of every day domestic life are represented by embroidering onto vintage embroideries and household linen combining text with the stitch in a subversive often ironic fashion.
